What is footgolf?
Footgolf, a sport that is now popular in Hungary, started its conquering journey from the Netherlands in 2009. This sport, which combines the rules of football and golf, is played by teams of 4 on an official golf course or footgolf course. The rules of the game are basically based on the known golf rules. The greatest attraction of the sport lies in the fact that it combines the popularity of football with the traditions and elegance of golf, and thus attracts a wide range of people. Footgolf is a true family sport: it provides excellent entertainment for everyone, regardless of gender and age. It is cheerful, youthful, energetic and at the same time an unforgettable experience
Ball in the hole
The essence of footgolf is to get a size 5 soccer ball from the starting point into a hole 53.5 cm in diameter and 40 cm deep, located at least 50 meters away, with as few kicks as possible. The course consists of 18 sections, while the practice courses consist of 6 or 9 sections, and their length can exceed 7,000 meters. Each section is assigned a number /PAR/, which means how many kicks a good footgolf player would need to get the ball into the hole.

How?
There are two basic forms of footgolf: match play and stroke play. The essence of stroke play is to compare the participants. There is no specific opponent, the goal is only to play the course. In match play, you have to defeat a specific opponent by winning several holes (playing the hole with the fewest number of kicks as possible). There are several variations of the two basic formats. Since footgolf, like golf, is a self-regulating game (i.e. it takes place without a referee, the players write down each other's points), every footgolf player must understand the basic rules precisely. The game is won by the player who, based on the total, has completed the given competition section in the fewest kicks (points). Each kick means one point. In the event of a tie, the ball must be put into the hole with one kick (from about 50 meters). The winner will be the one who shoots the ball closest to the hole.
